Carolyn 'Mema' Wright

    Carolyn "Mema” Wright, 74, passed away at her home in Stockholm, N.J., on Friday Oct. 17, 2014.

    Born and raised in Paterson, NJ to the late Eugenia and Frank Polidoro. Carolyn was also predeceased by her sister, Barbara Polidoro. Survived by her beloved husband, James Wright to whom she shared 48 years of blissful marriage with. Carolyn is lovingly remembered by her sister Marie and her husband John Laganella. Loving mother to her son Jan Wright and his wife Corinne and daughter, Natalie Perez and her husband Robert, of Stockholm, N.J. Cherished grandmother to Natasha and her husband John Cunniffe, Alexander, Thomas and Kali Wright, Angela, James, Grace, Gianna and Elizabeth Perez. Adored great-grandmother to Riley, Falyn and Liam Cunniffe.

    Carolyn graduated from East Side High in Paterson, N.J. She has resided in the Lake Tamarack Community of Stockholm, N.J., since 1976, where all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren now reside as well.

    Carolyn was a cherished part of Wallkill Valley Regional High School for 24 years as secretary to The Athletics Director & Student Activities. She is fondly remembered as surrogate grandmother or “Mema” to thousands of former students who have entered the high school’s doors throughout the years (or borrowed lunch money from her).

    Founding member of the Lake Tamarack Tea Lady Association for more than 30 years, Carolyn enjoyed taking dance lessons, going to Broadway plays, spending time at the beach, baking her famous chocolate chip cookies, and most of all, she took the greatest joy in loving and supporting her entire family in all of their endeavors.

    Carolyn was a faithful member and Eucharistic Minister at St. John Vianney RC Church in Stockholm, N.J.

    Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014, at 9:15 a.m. from F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, 1 Main St., Franklin to St.John Vianney RC Church, Stockholm, for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow at North Hardyston Cemetery.
