Members of the historic Stockholm United Methodist Church’s congregation teamed together to raise funds to aid the church’s charitable programs last weekend. Proceeds from the festival are earmarked to support church ministry projects and local ministry outreach to help local families in need.

Near the southern most end of Vernon-Stockholm Road, the event was held in and around the church’s community gathering building. Inside, offerings included homemade chili and soups, coffee, tea and soft drinks, a hot dog cart, baked goods, and eat-in or take-out fare.

Vernon nature photographer and author Susan Kehoe came to the festival to sell and autograph copies of her recent book, “The Adventures of Two Black Bear Cubs.” Her table also offered an extensive collection of gently used jewelry.

Steve Haggett of Lake Stockholm once again used his 15-year-old Sabrett’s hot dog stand that included a generous assortment of toppings.
