William Devore, 26, of Franklin was charged with theft and three counts of forgery after borough police received a report of a theft of personal bank checks, which were completed and cashed without their consent.

Police said the bank confirmed the complainants suffered a loss of more than $500.

Police said the investigation revealed Devore allegedly stole checks in late September and in early October, and on three separate occasions cashed them for currencer from a Franklin bank.

Devore was released pending an appearance in Sussex County Superior Court.
