A larger than life figure in American history, Theodore Roosevelt is the subject of a lecture, music and slide show covering his turbulent and exciting life to be held at the Jefferson Township Public Library on Sunday, Nov. 9 at 2 p.m.

The program, free and open to the public, is funded by the Horizons Speakers Bureau of the New Jersey Council for the Humanities, a state partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Through the use of political cartoons, postcards and photographs from the era, you'll learn about his boyhood growing up in New York City, his presidency, the use of his "Big Stick" executive powers, and his attempts to form a third party. Presenter Charles McSorley majored in American History at Rutgers, and is an avid collector of American political memorabilia and postcards.

Registration is requested. To register, or for more information, visit www.jeffersonlibrary.net, or call the library at 973-208-6244.

The Jefferson Township Public Library is located at 1031 Weldon Road, Oak Ridge, NJ 07438.
