Stephen Sullivan of Troop 90 Franklin has completed his Boy Scout Eagle Service Project of 12 wood duck nest boxes on the southern shores of Franklin Pond.

With the support of Troop 90 and the help of friends, family and scouting parents the nest boxes were constructed and placed on posts at the water’s edge. Stephen gathered the money to complete his Eagle Scout Project and led the scouts and parents with the building and installation of the boxes. These nest boxes will allow the female wood ducks an opportunity to lay and hatch her clutch of eggs for years to come.

Making bird enthusiasts around Franklin Pond happy to see the native wood duck, by improving the overall wood duck population in the Wallkill River Watershed area.

Sullivan follows in the Eagle footsteps of his brother (Andrew Sullivan) and grandfather (Gerald Sullivan), both Eagle Scouts.
