    Dustin DeStefano, 30, of Lafayete was sentenced to two years of probation. He also must pay $1,570.75 restitution to the victim and mandatory fines and fees.

    He pleaded guilty on July 14 to burglary, a crime of the third degree.

    In 2013, the defendant broke into the Bagel Station in Sparta, taking more than $500 and causing damage to the business.

    Anthony D. Robinson, 24, of East Stroudsburg, Pa., was sentenced to two years of probation, 11 days jail credit for time served and $155 in court fines.

    He pleaded guilty on Aug. 11 to the second-degree crime of unlawful possession of a weapon.

    He admitted to unlawfully possessing a .22 caliber Ruger Mark II during the course of a motor vehicle stop by Byram Police Officer D. DeWald.

    Charity M. Thompson, 21, of Sussex Borough was sentenced to two years of probation and time served.

    She was ordered to submit to a TASC evaluation and follow all recommendations made, must submit a DNA sample at her expense and pay total fines and penalties of $1,505.

    She pleaded guilty on Sept. 15 to the third-degree crime of burglary.

    She admitted to committing burglary by entering the apartment of the victim without his consent and taking a 32-inch flatscreen TV. The matter was investigated by Newton Police Officer M. Wolanski.

    Oct. 14
    Ryan Pittenger, 32, of Newton pleaded guilty to the third-degree crime of possession of a controlled dangerous subustance.

    Sentencing is presently anticipated for Nov. 14.

    He admitted to possessing heroin on his person during his arrest on an outstanding bench warrant by Sheriff’s Officer M. Caine.

    Daniel J. Marks, 26 of Branchville pleaded guilty to the third-degree crime of possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerou substance.

    Sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 21.

    He admitted to possessing marijuana/hashish with the intent to distribute it, which was discovered in his residence by Sussex County Sheriff's Deputies, who were attempting to execute a warrant on another individual who previously resided at the residence.

    Thomas A. Brady, 37, of Sussex Borough was sentenced to 96 days in the Keogh-Dwyer Correctional Facility and was given credit for 96 days served.

    He was ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $1,757.26, must pay total fines and penalties of $405 and submit a DNA sample at his expense.

    He pleaded guilty on Sept. 15 to three counts of shoplifting, all crimes of the fourth degree. He admitted to stealing a half-dozen televisions and other property over the course of three days from the Franklin Walmart in July 2014. The matter was investigated by Franklin Detective R. VanderPloeg.

    Oct. 16
    Three 14-year-old juveniles of Stanhope were sentenced to 12 months of probation on condition they enroll and successfully complete the CAP program, serve 30 hours of community service, pay $2,500 in resitution, joint and several with co-defendancts) and pay all fines an penalties.

    They pleaded guilty to criminal mischief, a crime of the third-degree, and were adjudicated to juvenile delinquents by the court.

    In July of 2014, the juveniles entered a commercial warehouse and damaged property inside the warehouse, including spray painting graffiti on walls.

    Oct. 21
    Karl Friday, 40, of Denville pleaded guilty to aggravated assault, a crime of the second degree, and possession of an assault weapon, a crime of the second degree.

    He was indicted by a grand jury on Oct. 8.

    Friday admitted that on Feb. 8, 2013, he unlawfully possessed an assault weapon and shot J.G. once with that assault weapon. The case was investigated by the Newton Township Police Dept., the Sussex County Prosecutor's Office, the New Jersey State Police, Sparta Township Police Department, the Denville Police Dept. and the Morris County Prosecutor's Office.

    He also pleaded guilty to the aggravated assault on a uniformed sheriff's office, a crime of the third-degree.

    He was indicted on that charge on Oct. 8.

    Friday admitted that on June 23, 2013, he punched a sheriffl's officer in the face at the Keogh-Dwyer Correctional Facility. The case was investigated by the Sussex County Prosecutor's Office.

    Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 12.
