Limon, Dabinett win in Franklin

Incumbent Republican Joseph Limon won another three-year term on the Franklin Borough Council on Tuesday night and newcomer Robert C. Dabinett was elected to fill the seat vacated by Councilman Mark Zaschak, who did not seek re-election.

Limon received 649 votes and Dabinett got 608. Democratic challenger Patricia N. Rowett finished third with 333 votes.

Joseph Martinez ran unopposed to finish former councilman's David Fanale term.

Two of the three incumbents were re-elected to the Franklin Borough School Board of Education as Michael A. Payton received 592 votes and Richard A. Kell received 574. Challenger Sarah Zydon grabbed the third seat with 552 votes. Incumbent board President Mariluz Alonso finished fourth with 531 votes.

The same happened in Ogdensburg with two incumbents retaining their seats, while one newcomer will join board. Lynne Pedersen received the top amount of votes with 357, while Stacy Walsh received 354. Challenger Toni Corban was elected with 344 votes. Incumbent Nina Sutera finished fourth with 251 votes.
