Newark woman charged for possessing stolen motor vehicle

    A Newark woman faces charges after a random registration check by Hamburg police shortly before noon on Sunday, Nov. 30.

    Rachel Ogbeid-Simms, 49, of 343 Schley St., Newark was charged with operating a vehicle without the owner's consent, being an unlicensed driver and failure to exhibit an insurance card.

    Police said the green Mazda Ogbeid-Simms was allegedly driving was reported stolen by Newark police. She was taken into custody shortly after the stop. The vehicle was impounded.

    Ogbeid-Simms was turned over to Newark police for further investiagation into the vehicle's theft.
