    — On Dec. 10, the national nonprofit Learning Ally and grassroots parent advocacy group Decoding Dyslexia NJ will present “Dyslexia: Making it Personal,” a fully interactive dyslexia simulation and presentation.

Dyslexia, the most prevalent form of learning disabilities, affects up to one in five individuals, yet it remains widely misunderstood within the education community and general public, stated in a news release on the event.

The simulation program has been designed to give teachers, administrators and parents an intimate sense of the stresses and challenges that dyslexic students go through on a daily basis, the release states.

The presentation will be held in the Sparta Middle School Caféteria on Wednesday, Dec. 10.

Registration opens at 6:30 p.m. and the simulation runs from 7 to 9 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public.
