Local airman graduates from basic training

SUSSEX BOROUGH — Air Force Airman Shawn R. Davis graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Davis is the son of Lori and John Davis of Sussex Borough. He is also the grandson of Rodney and Coleen Swezy of Hamburg, N.J., and Margret Davis of Stillwater, N.J.

The airman is a 2014 graduate of High Point Regional High School.
