Buccieri’s Gems and Jewelry will conduct its ninth annual collection of holiday gifts for Strengthen Our Sisters, a non-profit shelter, serving homeless or battered women and their dependant children.

The shelter is located in Northern New Jersey and is dedicated to helping women and children restore balance and harmony to their lives. It provides safe, supportive shelter to the women and children as well as counseling, child care, children’s workshops, support groups, parenting programs, and employment development programs.

This holiday season, Buccieri’s Gems and Jewelry will collect new, unwrapped gifts for the children at Strengthen Our Sisters. Suggested items for the younger children include infant clothing, diapers, pajamas, games, coloring books, crayons, and toys. Older children would appreciate art supplies, clothing, pajamas, and hygiene products such as body wash, perfume, and cologne. Winter items such as hats, gloves, mittens, and scarves are welcome for all ages.

In addition to the above, the shelter also in need of new twin sheets, blankets, pillows, bath towels, and wash cloths. Wrapping paper, gift bags, labels, and tape also are welcome so the gifts can be wrapped and presented nicely to the women and children.

Anyone wishing to donate a gift to Strengthen Our Sisters is welcome to drop them off at Buccieri’s Gems and Jewelry through Dec. 22. The store is located at 5669 Berkshire Valley Road in Oak Ridge. Or, for additional information on this collection, call Kathy at 973-208-6880. All donations will be given to the shelter on the Dec. 23 and will be distributed as needed during the holiday season.
