County libraries plan reading program

    Through January, preschoolers through teens will be rewarded with stickers, small prizes and popcorn snacks for each week they Pop Open A Good Book.

    Registration begins Dec. 26 and the incentives will be awarded for each week of reading through Jan. 31. All popcorn prizes must be picked up by Feb. 7.

    Adults are invited to pop in on the fun by participating in a raffle with prizes including a new tablet and a $100 Weis gift card. The period of active reading runs from Jan. 5 through Feb. 27 and allows adults to enter one raffle ticket for each title read or listened.

    Winners will be chosen from among all the entries at the end of the program.

    A one-time registration will be required and can be accomplished by calling or visiting any branch of the Sussex County Library System beginning Friday, Dec. 26.
