Sussex County Y to celebrate 10 years

The Sussex County YMCA is offering area residents the kickstart they need to make fitness, wellbeing and healthy connections part of their lives by waiving the joiner fee new members.

During the “Start Your Someday Today" campaign, anyone who signs up for an individual, senior or family membership through Jan. 31, 2015, pays no joiner fee.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary in January, the Sussex Y provides opportunities for people of all ages to find their groove through its array of classes, programs and events. During the winter session starting Jan. 5, members 16 and older can play on soccer and ultimate Frisbee leagues, while younger kids can Hoop-a-cise, take karate, or express their artistic side in the artists’ studio (and bring a friend for free). Seniors may enjoy Better Balance or Chair Yoga classes.

The Y offers progressive swim lessons for children as young as six months and adults, as well as family swim times and aquatic classes. Adults can enjoy the sauna and whirlpool.

Parents can take advantage of childcare while they work out in the state-of-the-art weight room, participate in one of many classes including Pilates and Spin, or attend a healthy living workshop on topics likes nutrition and diabetes.

Twice a month, parents can claim a few hours to themselves while their children enjoy Kids Night Out.

New members are shown how to use gym equipment and get a free personal training session. To learn more, stop by the Sussex Y at 15 Wits End Road in Hardyston, call (973) 209-9622 or visit http://www.sussexcountyymca.org.
