There will be a Camp Openn House on Jan. 9 to learn about the YMCA's 2015 summer camps.

The Sussex County Y camps build campers’ self-esteem, confidence and social skills in a fun, safe and enriching environment. Children from ages 3 through 15 develop independence and wellness awareness through developmentally appropriate activities and learning experiences.

Families can choose from Junior Y Camp, Kids Y Camp, Teen Y Camp and the Counselor-in Training Camp at the Hardyston location; Summer Y Sports Camps (basketball, tennis, soccer and lacrosse) at Walkill Valley Regional High School; and Junior Y Camp and Kids Y Camp at Hillside Park in Andover.

All Sussex Y camps are accredited by the American Camp Association and reading time and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math lessons are incorporated into all curriculums.

The Y will host its camp reunion from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 9. Campers can make fake snow, enjoy a snowball fight under the black lights, go swimming and eat s'mores on a stick.

Parents can meet the camp directors at the Camp Open Houses on Sunday, Feb. 22 and Sunday, March 15 from 2-4 p.m. Families who register by Jan. 31 pay 2014 prices. To find out more, visit sussexcountyymca.org, call (973) 209-9622, or stop by the facility at 15 Wits End Road in Hardyston.
