Sierra Club to screen 'Disruption'

NEWTON — The Skylands Group of NJ Sierra club will host a screening of the documentary film, "Disruption," on Tuesday, Jan. 13, at 7 p.m. at the Unitarian Fellowship buliding, 1 W. Nelson St.

"Disruption" tells the story of what the filmmakers believe is the greatest crisis mankind has ever faced and the movement rising to fight it. It weaves together commentary from the most recognized voices on climate change with behind the scenes footage of the efforts to organize The People's Climate March — the largest climate rally in history. The film highlights the failure of our political process to prevent climate catastrophe and the need for a popular movement to bend the course of history.

The Skylands Sierra Club Group was able to fill two buses to transport people from this area to the People's Climate March last September.

The public is encouraged to attend this first Skylands Group meeting of 2015 and help the group's Executive Committee establish goals and strategies in its ongoing efforts to protect the planet and preserve the natural beauty and resources of northwest New Jersey.
