Mommy and Me bootcamps planned

Mommy and Me Bootcamps will be offered in Lafayette for mothers with children under the age of 3.

Takacs Wellness Center and J.R. Slate Fitness have partnered together to improve the health of families in Sussex County for the New Year.

Dr. M. Helena Takacs of Takacs Wellness Center is entering her 30th year practicing chiropractic and providing wellness services to the community.

She has made it her obligation to care for the entire body through chiropractic, weight loss, nutrition, rehabilitation and exercise.

JR Slate Fitness was founded in 2013 as a way to affordably bring personal training and wellness coaching to busy people's homes.

"As a chiropractor as well as a mother, health and wellness begins with the decisions we make, and most often it is the mom who makes these decisions for her family," Takacs said. "It is generally stressful for a mother caring for children age 3 and younger, so we have developed a program that allows for both a bonding activity for mother and child as well as an exercise regime that helps the new mother get back in shape and learn new things to keep her that way."

The two businesses have partnered to offer Mommy and Me Bootcamp classes.

The classes offer new mothers the opportunity to not just handle their post-pregnancy weight, but also to engage and network with other mothers and their children in a positive and creative setting. Classes will be offered on Tuesday and Thursday mornings starting at 8 a.m. at Takacs Wellness Center, 82 Route 15 in Lafayette; their website is www.DrTakacs.com.
