    Jackie Thompson, 23, of Franklin was charged with theft and theft by deception after Franklin police responded to a report of fraudulent activity.

    Police said a Sussex Borough resident fell victim to a scam in which she purchases a stolen cellular phone. Police said detectives, upon investigation, found Thompson to allegedly be in possession of stolen merchandise, specifically an Apple iPhone.

    Police said Thompson is alleged to have stolen the cellular phone from a resident in Franklin, advertised it for sale on a social networking site, then sold it to a victim from Sussex Borough.

    Tamarri Valentine, 29, of New York City was charged with four counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and use of controlled dangerous substance after Franklin police responded to a complaint at McDonald's.

    After a brief investigation by officers, police said Valentine was found to be under the influence of narcotics. Police said they further found him in possession of heroin, oxycodone, roxycodone, and alprazolam.

    Officers also found Valentine allegedly had multiple warrants from jurisdictions in Franklin, Montville, and Paterson.

    Valentine was lodged in the Sussex County Jail in lieu of $37,000 bail with no 10 percent option.

    Jeffrey Bash, 42, of Franklin was charged with possession of hypodermic needes and use of heroin after a suspicious person complaint at Walmart of Franklin.

    After a brief investigation, police said they found Bash to be under the influence of heroin. He further found him in possession of multiple hypodermic needles.

    Police said they found Bash had a no bail Superior Court Warrant from Sussex County.

    He was sent to the Sussex County Jail pending the resolution of the Superior Court Warrant.

    Brett Hosking, 28, of Oak Ridge was charged burglary and theft, and Joan Hosking, 55, of Oak Ridge was charged with possessing stolen property and hindering the apprehension of Brett Hosking after Franklin police responded to a reported burglary at Serv Pro.

    Police said the owner reported currency, laptops, tablets and other electronics were taken from the business. Police said the value of the merchandise was more than $15,000, according to the business owner.

    Brett Hosking is alleged to have entered the business without the owner's consent or knowledge and removed the merchandise. Joann Hosking is alleged to have hinder Brett Hosking's arrest while detectives were attempting to contact him.

    Brett Hosking was sent to the Sussex County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail with no 10 percent option. Joann Hosking was released pending an appearance in Sussex County Superior Court.
