Police are looking for a man suspected of robbing a bank in Wantage Tuesday morning.

Lakeland Bank, on Route 23, was robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash at about 11:41 a.m. on Tuesday, according to state police.

The suspect demanded money from a teller verbally, State Police Sgt. Jeff Flynn said.

The suspect was described as black or hispanic, approximately 6 feet tall, wearing a blue hoodie and blue wind pants. He did not brandish a weapon.

The male subject "fled on foot in an unknown direction" following the robbery, Flynn said.

State police have been searching the area, including the nearby Wantage Town Center, and are being assisted by K-9 units.

Although no weapon was shown, state police advise anybody who sees a person matching the description of the suspect, to avoid approaching him.

Anybody who spots the suspect or has information about his whereabouts should call 911 or the State Police station in Sussex at 973-383-1514.

The same bank was robbed almost exactly 11 months ago on Feb. 12, 2014.

A Sussex man was charged in that robbery.
