    Stephen P. Pollack, 25, of Vernon, New Jersey was sentenced to two years probation, was ordered to serve 120 days county jail and was given credit for 14 days served.

    He was further ordered to submit to a TASC evaluation and follow all recommendations made, pay fines and penalties of $2,380 and submit a DNA sample at his expense.

    He pleaded guilty on Sept. 15 to two counts of third degree Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance – Heroin and Suboxone.

    In August of 2014, the Vernon Police Department received a report that the defendant was in possession of heroin. Upon locating Pollack, he admitted to the officer that he had heroin on his person and was subsequently found to also have Suboxone on his person without a prescription.

    Dustin Storm, 41, of Branchville was sentenced to three years probation and $2,380 in court fines.

    He admitted to the third degree crimes of distribution of a controlled dangerous substance and to possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

    Dec. 22
    Robert Davis, 32, of Newton pleaded guilty to two counts of third degree burglary and to one count second degree distribution of a controlled dangerous substance while within a park zone.

    Sentencing is presently anticipated for Feb. 27, 2015.

    Nicholas Milazzo, 20, of Sussex, pleaded guilty to the third degree crime of distribution of a controlled dangerous substance.

    Sentencing was scheduled for Jan. 5.

    He admitted to distributing heroin on Aug. 4, 2004 in Frankford Township to an individual cooperating with the Sussex County Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force.

    Jan. 5
    Robert D. Lutz, 30, of Newton, pleaded guilty to the third degree crime of possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

    Sentencing is presently anticipated for Feb. 27, 2015.

    He admitted to possessing heroin in the parking lot of the Sussex Theater in Sussex Borough on Aug. 14.

    The matter was investigated by New Jersey State Trooper C. Mills.

    Jan. 9
    Raymond VanTassell, 47, of Newton, was sentenced to three years probation with credit for 138 days served. He must also undergo a TASC evaluation and a mental health evaluation and follow all recommendations and pay court fines and fees.

    He pleaded guilty on Dec. 1, to burglary, a crime of the third degree and fourth degree destruction of evidence.

    In June 2014, he broke into a home that was inhabitable due to a fire and attempted to take a large flat screen television. VanTassell was caught in the home by police.

    In October the defendant had an active warrant out for his arrest. During the arrest he tried to swallow wax folds used to package controlled dangerous substances.
