    Carlo Franacvilla, age 77, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015, at Newton Medical Center. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Mr. Francavilla had served in the United States Army and has lived in Sussex County since 1969. He had been employed as a computer operator for Selective Insurance in Branchville for more than 25 years and had retired 18 years ago. Mr. Francavilla enjoyed hunting in his spare time and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Newton. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Catherine; his son, Frank Francavilla and his wife, Patty, of Wantage; his two daughters, Donnamarie Johnson and her husband, Bob, of Stillwater, and Carla Deatrick and her husband, Matt, of Oak Ridge; his brother, Leonard Francavilla of Stillwater; and his six grandchildren, Nicholas, and Victoria Francavilla, Jacob and Jessie Johnson, and Cole and Reed Deatrick. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 19, 2015, at the Pinkel Funeral Home, 31 Bank Street (Route 23), Sussex. Interment will follow at Beemerville Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects to the family on Sunday, Jan. 18, 2015, from 4-7 p.m. at funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Carlo’s memory to the Northern New Jersey Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, NNJVMC, P.O. Box 463, Vernon, NJ 07462.
