Friday Night Magic - An Evening Of Intimate Deceptions

| 19 Jan 2015 | 04:16

Magicians will start appearing this Friday, Jan 23 as part of Friday Night Magic-An Evening Of Intimate Deceptions.

Every Friday Night, for eight weeks, Sparta Ave Stage will feature an award winning professional magician up close and personal. The magic presented will be done by headlining performers who have worked and/or lectured at the Magic Castle.

According to Tom Gibbons, board member of the non-profit, 501(c)3 Sparta Stage, Inc. and co-organizer for the weekly event, "it's like going to see Broadway performers, without $8 bottles of water and crossing through the Lincoln tunnel."

Joe Garsetti, magician and co-organizer, states "the support we are receiving for Friday Night Magic from the professional magic community has been unbelievable and humbling! It's very rare to see these performers work in this kind of setting without paying a lot of money for the privilege."

Seating will be limited.
The performers headlining the first four weeks are:

Jan. 23 Bill Wisch, a protage of the late great master magician, Slydini. Winner of the Magic Castle's Slydini Award, 2010.

Jan. 30 Will Fern, masterful comedy sleight of hand magician, International Brotherhood of Magicians, International Champion of Strolling Magic.

Feb. 6 — Peter Samuelson-the “soft-spoken conceptualist of sorcery” (New York Times), co-founder of Monday Night Magic in NYC and creator of two off Broadway solo shows (The Magician and Paperwork).

Feb. 14 — (Sat) Eric DeCamps- (a special Valentines Day Saturday night performance of Friday Night Magic.) Winner of the Society of American Magicians “Magician of the Year and the prestigious Gold Medal of Excellence for Close-up Magic. Creator and star of his one-man show, PURE MAGIC-A Performance of Contemporary Conjuring, which premiered in NYC's The Lincoln Room, located in the heart of Rockefeller Center.
