James Paul 'Jim' Holleran, Jr.

    James Paul “Jim” Holleran Jr., 84, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015, at the Homestead Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. He was born in East Orange on Jan. 22, 1931, to the late James P. and Helen (nee McGeehan) Holleran. He was a resident in Hamburg for 45 years before moving to Branchville.

    Jim owned and operated the Homestead Mortgage Co. in Sparta since 1976 and retired in 2000. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, St. Jude the Apostle Church and Our Lady Queen of Peace Church. Jim was an avid golfer and a member of Lake Mohawk Golf Club for 25 years and enjoyed playing the piano by ear and solving crossword puzzles.

    He was predeceased by two sons, Robert Craig and Douglas Glenn, and a daughter, Martha Maull Holleran, and his brother, John Joseph Holleran, and his sister, Joan Pappas.

    Jim “ was adored by all his family” and is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Elaine Constance “Connie” Holleran, and a son, James Paul Holleran, III, and his wife, Nancy, of Montague, and his two daughters, Donna Lea Rockafellow and her husband, Jay, of Branchville, Constance Jayne Domicolo and her husband, Brian, of Hamburg, and his eight grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, and his brother, William Holleran and his wife, Tita, of Sanibel Island, Fla., and his two sisters Threse Motzel of Neptune, N.J., and Ellyn Holleran Morrow of St. Augustine, Fla., and his many nieces and nephews.

    Relatives and friends will be received on Saturday, Jan. 31, from noon to time of services at 3 p.m. at the F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, 1 Main St., Franklin, N.J.
