Immaculate Conception School recently competed in the local Northwest New Jersey Forensics League competition against other schools in the Catholic Academy of Sussex County.

The students from grades 4 through 7 were required to choose a selection of poetry, memorize it, and present it to a panel of judges.

The students were judged on pitch and tone, understanding of theme, eye contact and expression, communication of rhyme and rhythm, and pronunciation and articulation.

Immaculate took home the Silver Cup, which goes to the school with the highest number of winning students.

In varsity, first place was awarded to Mya Randall; second place to Ciera Smith; and fifth place to Ryan Carr.

In junior varsity, fourth place went to Spencer Randall; and fifth place to Megan Esposito.
