OGDENSBURG — The Ogdensburg Elementary School student council has asked the community and the members of the school to donate lightly used winter clothing for the needy.

The Student Council and adviser Mr. Grogard surrounded their winter clothing donation box anxiously anticipating many donations. The clothes were donated to The Partnership of Social Services in Franklin Borough.

There was such a large amount of clothing donated that two trips to The Partnership of Social Services had to be made.

There was an in-service day for Ogdensburg staff on Jan. 19. The entire staff was trained and certified in CPR and the use of a defibrillator. Newton Memorial Hospital provided several instructors to assist the staff during the training. In the afternoon, the staff was trained in food allergies offered by Maschio’s Food Service.

Ogdensburg cheerleaders taught kindergarten class through third grade, a routine to show respect to their classmates.

Skye Gengaro assisted the Ogdensburg cheerleaders to arrange a Character Education pep rally. The Ogdensburg cheerleaders taught the students various routines accompanied by songs relating to respect. The students had fun performing their routines to each other during the pep rally.

Oggie, the school mascot, surprised the students with a visit at the pep rally.
