Franklin Troop 90 took a cabin camping trip to Winnebago Scout Reservation in Rockaway, N.J.

On this trip, the troop hosted the Pack 90 Cub Scout Webelos group from Franklin. During the outing the boys went to the camp rifle range for target shooting, some of the troop senior scouts worked with cub scouts on rank requirements, including outdoor skills and shelter building.

The group arrived Friday night to stay in the Baden Powel cabin at Winnebago (named Baden Powel in honor of the founder of the Boy Scouts of America organization.

On Saturday morning, the group had breakfast burritos, for lunch, it had had hobo dinners (burgers with vegetables wrapped in tinfoil cooked over an open fire), and for dinner the boys had a traditional Thanksgiving dinner (turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, etc.).

On Saturday night, the group had a campfire where they had shared stories and played trivial pursuit games. On Saturday night, the boys concluded the campfire with our tradition of “Rose/Bud/Thorn”, where they described what they liked about the campout, did not like about the campout, and what they were looking forward to.
