Water main break in Hamburg

HAMBURG — Water service has been restored as repairs on three water main breaks in the area of Route 94 and Mountain View Road were completed on Thursday afternoon.

Hamburg police said there is no water restriction in the borough and residents do not have to boil water before use.

Police said Route 94 South is expected to be re-opened once the hole is filled and paved over. Officials anticipate it being open by 5 p.m.

There will still be alternating two-way traffic on Route 94 until the road is re-opened.

The first water main break was reported at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday and two more were reported late Wednesday night.

Borough police said the break will affect water service for approximately 75 residents.
