Located in the heart of Andover's antique district, His & Hers is the creation of Heather Carlson of Lake Hopatcong and Ed Marzigliano of Bangor, Pa.

"I was selling and collecting vintage clothing from home and had a space at Scranberry Coop, and Eddie was doing clean outs, transitions and small moves," Carlson said. "The two of us had been accumulating a little bit of everything and decided it would be fun to put our passions together."

After a long search for space, they landed at 146 Main Street, in Andover.

Unique offeringsStocked with new items every week His & Hers has everything from locally made goods, to vintage dresses, to furniture. With the recent addition of more space for furniture and bi-weekly classes, the business is thriving.

The store features a clothing section with a collection of brand names such as: Dolce & Gabbana, Prada, Chanel, Pucci, Burberry, Ralph Lauren and more. His & Hers' area of antiques features a little bit of everything.

"It's not all antique," Carlson said, "If it's different and cool, that's we like it."

A few months ago, Carlson and Marzigliano expanded their furniture section. What sets this section of the business apart is that they offer chalk and milk paints in 50 different colors. Customers can opt to have furniture painted for them, buy the paint to do themselves at home or learn how to do it at the store.

ClassesOne of the most popular aspects of the store is its bi-weekly classes on Tuesday evenings.

Deb Popek, of Newton, recently took a class with her daughter that taught them how to turn rods of glass into beads.

"It was really interesting and great to learn something new that's so unique," she said.

Other classes see participants turning trinkets into art, creating decorative terra-cotta pots for spring and the list goes on and on.

"We keep the price reasonable at $35 per person which includes all materials," Carlson said.

Crayons and activities are provided for children.

Another aspect of the business include renting out vintage clothing to theater groups. These have included high school plays, the Blairstown Theatre Group and a number of other plays.

"I enjoy being creative, having fun and seeing things go full circle," Carlson said.

She also enjoys her customers immensely.

"Some of my very best friends are my customers," she said.

The atmosphere at the store is friendly and laid back.

"It's family friendly and just the kind of place you want to go and hang out," Carlson said.
