Chamber announces scholarships

NEWTON — The Sussex County Chamber of Commerce is offering eight scholarships to area residents for the 2015-16 school year.

The scholarships include a top award of $1,000 and three $500 awards. These scholarships will be used to further each recipient's education at a college, professional, technical, vocational or business school. The chamber also is providing one $500.00 scholarship award to the Sussex County Community College Foundation.

Berkeley College is providing three $1,000.00 scholarships to be awarded by the chamber.

All students are encouraged to apply for these awards regardless of financial aid status. Interested students can visit www.sussexcountychamber.org for details and to download a scholarship application. Applications have also been mailed to the Guidance Departments of all public and private Sussex County high schools, along with criteria specifications. Students must follow the application instructions and return completed applications to the Sussex County Chamber of Commerce office by 4 p.m. by April 17, 2015. This is a firm deadline and no exceptions will be made. All applications must be completed in full to be considered.
