Three charged after heroin investigation

Three people face charges after Franklin police conducted a narcotics investigation in the borough.

Jason Brunell, 34, of Franklin, Christopher Ambrose, 21, of Hamburg, and Katelynn Shipps, 23, of Wantage, were charged with possession of heroin and possession with intent to distribute heroin. Ambrose and Shipps also were charged with possession of various pieces of drug paraphernalia, hypodermic needles, and use of a controlled dangerous substance.

Police said, during the course of the investigation, all three suspects were alleged to be found in possession of an undisclosed amount of heroin. They also are alleged to have been involved in the sale of heroin throughout the borough.

They were sent to the Sussex County Jail in lieu of $20,000 with no 10 percent option. Police said Shipps also was found to have two outstanding warrants from Fair Lawn and Byram for $1,000 each.
