Hamburg summer program may be canceled

HAMBURG — The Hamburg Summer Recreation Program is in danger of not being held.

Borough Councilman Mark Senna said while no final decision has been made, the possible cancellation stems from a lack of participation

Several other events are being prepared in the borough.

The Sussex County YMCA will host a family fun night on March 15 from 6-8 p.m.

The Hamburg Chamber of Commerce is getting involved in preparations for a Sussex County Day, be held at Sussex County Community College on May 3.

Each town in the county will be given a booth. All towns are being asked to be involved, including their fire departments. The event is expected to have entertainment and contests.

Miss Hamburg and Little Miss Hamburg pageant is scheduled for June 14 from 1-3 p.m. Applications can be picked up at the Hamburg school on May 1 and are due by June 3.
