Jefferson planning spring exercise program

    The Jefferson Township Recreation Department is accepting registrations for the spring session of its high energy, low-impact adult strength training exercise program.

    A 9-week session begins on Tuesday, March 31, from 6:45-7:30 p.m. continuing on consecutive Tuesdays with the last class on June 9 and no classes on April 7 and 21. Classes are in the Jefferson Township Middle School Cafeteria, 1000 Weldon Road, Oak Ridge, and the class fee is $31.50 (checks payable to the Township of Jefferson).

    Taught by Aerobics and Fitness Association of America Group Exercise certified instructor Christine Powell, these classes will consist of weight-training to build muscular strength and toning, exercises to build cardiovascular and muscular endurance and core strengthening work.

    A minimum of 15 people/maximum of 30 people is required to run each class. Participants should bring a bottle of water, a challenging set of hand weights, and a mat or large towel for the floor exercises.

    All participants must pre-register through the Recreation Dept., and registration forms are available at the Camp Jefferson office, 81 Weldon Road during regular business hours of 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Fridays, or by calling 973-663-8404.

Registrations and checks can be mailed to Jefferson Township Recreation, CORE program, Camp Jefferson, 81 Weldon Road, Lake Hopatcong, NJ 07849 or dropped off in person. MasterCard, VISA, and Discover are accepted but a 2.45 percent bank convenience charge will be added to the registration fee.
