The North Jersey Piano Teachers Association will present its annual scholarship recital on Saturday, March 21, at 2 p.m. at the Reformed Baptist Church of Lafayette on 28 Meadows Road.

A number of local students will be playing their piano pieces, and Becky Turro of High Point will be awarded a scholarship.

Turro is a senior at High Point Regional High School, and plans to study Music Education and Music Composition in college. A student of Dori Martin of Wantage for the past seven years, she has devoted much of her time and energy towards excellence in piano and composition. She will be playing one of her compositions for piano, "Remnants of a Supernova", along with pieces by Bach and Debussy, for the scholarship recital.

At High Point, Turro is a member of the Women's Choir, chamber choir, jazz band, spring musicals, and was drum major of the marching band. She has also accompanied many events in the music and theatre department at High Point

The Scholarship Recital is free and the public is welcome to attend. A reception will follow.
