SPARTA — Dance Expression Dance Arts recently picked up several awards at the Dance Xplosion Dance Competition at Sussex Technical School in Sparta on March 6-8.
The jazz production of "Flashdance" won the Excalibur overall high score award for a 13-and-older group/line/production.
Renea Rossi and Morgan Parker, both and Vernon won the overall high score for 13-and-older duet/trio for "Miss Otis Regrets," a jazz duet.
The Jr. Jazz Small group "Big Noise" won the entertainment award and high score for a novice group.
"Breathe" won the choreography award in the Large Group Jr. Modern category.
Dance Expression won the "Excellence in Modern Dance Award."
