St. Patrick's Day Parade survives weather

Despite accumulating snow the day before and occasional sleet as the Honor Guard and the Morris County Police Pipes & Drums led the procession, this year’s 12th Annual Sussex County St. Patrick's Day Parade went off on Saturday, March 21.

With a record-breaking 150-plus units joining the parade, the sidewalks of Spring Street and beyond were lined with green-outfitted spectators who continuously cheered as each group passed by. Even the street-cart vendors were so colorful as they peddled everything from green hats to little green dogs. All in all though, it was a reason for celebration for this year’s grand marshals, who are long-time Franklin residents Dennis and Mary Harrington.
