SPARTA — Mike Vocaturo hit an RBI double, driving in the game-winning run as the Sparta baseball team defeated the Wallkill Valley Rangers, 2-1, on Thursday, April 2, in Sparta.

Dillon Mendel got the win, allowing a run on two hits with 10 strikeouts. Jack Kulick scored on a fielder's choice in the second inning.

Sean Edres had an RBI single for Wallkill Valley.
