New Jersey’s best female vocalists, Cassidy and the Music, CC Coletti and Eryn Shewell, will be showcased in a live performance at The Newton Theatre on Thursday, May 7 at 8 p.m.

Cassidy and the MusicCassidy found early success with all-girl rock band Antigone Rising, as lead singer and songwriter. With their reputation as a great live act, AR toured with The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, The Allman’s, and many others. She went on to start her own record label and produced a CD with title track "Follow The Freedom" featuring Journey’s former front man Steve Perry. The first single off the album, "Blind Spot," reached 1.4 million views on YouTube. Other solo pursuits include collaborations with top artists like Rob Thomas of Matchbox Twenty. Cassidy and The Music began recording in 2013. Cassidy calls this music the best she’s ever produced. The self-titled album includes sampling and urban music, giving the album the hip hop infusion that Cassidy has always missed in her past work.

"I’ll always have that 70’s sound. And I'm a rock singer," she says, “but if you listen to some of my older stuff you'll hear that I lean at times in a more rhythmic, soul-driven direction. Up to this point I haven't had the freedom or maybe the guts to take it fully there, although I did go a bit more pop on the Bohème record. I'm finding my way after being in a band for almost a decade. It's been fun to explore."

CC ColettiCC Coletti is known worldwide for her rocking duets and background vocals with rock and roll legend Meat Loaf, touring with him from 2003 through 2011. CC was featured on three of Meat Loaf's DVDs and a couple of his CDs. In 2007 CC was featured as the opening act for Meat Loaf’s European tour.

CC has been a staple in the NJ rock club scene since she was 18. Her debut CD, "Woodstock Lane" (2008), is a collection of pure blues/rock songs, with a soulful, and at times funky vibe with heartfelt ballads written from personal experiences.

CC’s second CD, "Let It All Hang Out," has a bluesy rock acoustic based sound with edgy riffs and soft melodic duet ballads. In 2013 CC recorded "Bring It On Home" with a modern play on songs like Led Zeppelin's Rock and Roll, "Howlin' Wolf's Killing Floor" and more.

Eryn ShewellEryn Shewell has developed a reputation as one of the premier up and coming voices on the scene today. Erin’s style is heavily influenced by the traditions of Jazz, Blues and Country fused with her modern pop style and brought together by her vocal ability.

Eryn’s musical career began at age 13, starting a 10 year run singing with country band Sundance. She wrote her first song at 14. By 16 she was also singing backup with Jody Joseph and the Average Joes. In 2007 Eryn put together The Eryn Shewell Band, performing mostly her own original compositions. Within the first year they were recognized with three Asbury Music Awards nominations. In 2009 and 2011 Eryn won the Top Female Vocalist award.

“Music has always been my passion, my therapeutic outlet. I’m not just chasing fame; this is my career,” she says.

Eryn is sought out by other artists as a backup singer because of her natural ability to harmonize. She has shared the stage with artists such as Don Mclean, Gregg Allman, Gin Blossoms, Johnny Winter, Robert Cray, Little River Band and many more.

“I love working with other artists and experiencing their music. I have learned something from everyone I’ve had the pleasure to perform or write with. It’s not the same if I can’t share it anyway,” she says.
