Overweight and obesity are categorized by measuring body mass index or BMI. This is a calculation using height and weight and to determine one's weight category. Less than 25 is considered normal 25-29.9 is overweight, not obese Class 1 (low risk) obesity BMI 30-34.9 Class 2 (moderate risk) obesity BMI 35-39.9 Class 3 (high risk) obesity BMI greater than 40

Waist greater than 35" for women, 40" for men increases your risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes type 2

Obesity plus these risk factors High blood pressure High cholesterol High blood sugar Increases your risk of developing heart disease, stroke, and kidney problems
