Littell Street a great idea

A recent letter of the Advertiser facetiously mentioned that Franklin might rename Main Street "Littell Street".

Upon reflection, that's a wonderful idea!

If there was anyone who loved and did his best to support Franklin, it was Bob Littell.

Bob personified public service. From his early days as a United States Marine to his record-setting career in the New Jersey legislature, he worked tirelessly for the citizens not only of Franklin, but also Sussex County and all New Jersey.

Bob set high personal standards for being a good and respectable politician, something often lacking in today's society. More importantly, his standards reflected a truly decent human being and are worthy of imitation by all people. One of his favorite sayings was "There's no right way to do a wrong thing."

True, there's a Littell Center and a Littell Bridge, but renaming Main Street after Bob would certainly be appropriate. However, in order to save costs to residents and the US Postal Service, it is recommended that "Robert Littell Street" be in addition to the "Main Street" name.
