    Joseph Prol, 89, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 27, 2015.

    Born in Prospect Park, N.J., on Dec. 22, 1925, to the late Johanna (Goudswaard) and Hendrik Prol, he married Ruth Mae Hoff on May 19, 1962.

    He is survived by his wife and four children, Henry of Culpeper, Va., Joseph Jr. and his wife, Victoria, of Pendleton, Ind., Leslie Geiselhart and her husband, Neil, of Montgomery, N.Y., and Thomas of Franklin, as well as 11 grandchildren. Also surviving him are two sisters, Elizabeth Ryniak of Wayne and Leona Digges of Clifton Park, NY. He was predeceased by three sisters and eight brothers.

    A Navy veteran of World War II serving aboard the USS Currituck, he was a member of American Legion Franklin Post 132. He worked as a bricklayer and was a life member of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Sussex Christian Reformed Church where a memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 23, at 10:30 a.m.
