First graders at Sussex Christian School were immersed in the world of Dr. Seuss.

Dr. Seuss is fun and entertaining but that is not the only reason our first grade teacher and students love him.

“Dr. Seuss books help young readers learn to read and develop a love for reading with his sing-songy rhymes and repetition," first-grade teacher Stacy Bray said. "During Dr. Seuss week, we read many Dr. Seuss books and discussed the lessons that can be taken from each book, such as honesty, listening, and humility to name a few. Students made oobleck, ate green eggs and ham and created turtles that they try to stack as high as they can. Now my students cannot get enough of these exciting books”
