— Graduates of Sussex County Community College looking to continue their education are now eligible to receive tuition discounts from Fairleigh Dickinson University under an agreement recently announced by the two colleges.

The SCCC-FDU Scholars Program can save eligible students seeking a bachelor's degree a minimum of 40 percent on tuition rates at Fairleigh Dickinson University.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity for SCCC graduates to have access to FDU programs at a sharp discounted rate,” said Vice President of Academic Affairs William Waite. “The quality courses offered at FDU will allow our students to access a variety of programs enabling them to complete their bachelor’s degree.”

First and foremost, for a student to be eligible, they must obtain an associate degree from SCCC. It is then that the SCCC-FDU Scholar is given a minimum 40 percent reduction in tuition at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Other financial incentives are also available to those who are eligible for Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society membership, SCCC cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher, Residential housing grant and NJ Stars II participants.

SCCC and FDU's goal for the program is to ensure that students have a seamless transition and optimize the potential savings that are available through this program, and other scholarship opportunities at FDU.

New, incoming students must sign a letter of intent to enroll at FDU before they reach 30 credits. Interested students should contact an advisor at SCCC to discuss the program and how best to achieve success in it.
