Kittatinny rolls over Sussex Tech

NEWTON — Kittatinny Regional High School defeated Sussex County Technical School in varsity softball on Friday, May 8, 10-0.

The Kittatinny Lady Cougars have been on a winning streak for the past month. They have only lost four of their last thirteen games. Friday's contest was Kittatinny''s fourth straight victory. Kittatinny steamrolled the Sussex County Tech Mustangs in six innings.

Kittatinny's bats got hot early and often. On the field the Lady Cougars proved to be sharp. Pitcher Skylar Rodriguez threw just enough heat to burn the majority of Sussex Tech batters.

Rodriguez threw for six innings striking out eight batters and earned the win.

Sussex Tech pitcher Alicia Martin-Conyers threw for five innings before being replaced by teammate Martarina Crumb for the sixth inning. Martin-Conyers took the loss.

In contrast to Kittatinny's winning streak, Sussex Tech has managed just five wins in 18 games.
