Allen W. Rude Jr., 74, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at the Andover Nursing Center, Andover, N.J. Allen was born in Hamburg, N.J. on Feb. 23, 1941, to the late Alan W. Rude, Sr. and Evelyn (nee Ellis) Rude.

Allen received his bachelor of science Degree in 1973 at Fairleigh Dickinson University. He served during peacetime in the United States Navy. Allen was employed for 38 years at Picatinny Arsenal for the United States Department of Defense as a performance-based service acquisition program manager. He was a member for 36 years at the Hamburg Board of Education, and a member of the Sussex School Board Association, and served as football and tennis coach at the Sussex County Technical School, and a member of the Hamburg Historic Preservation Commission, and a member of the Sgt. Francis M. Glynn American Legion Post 132.

Allen was the beloved husband for 44½ years to Virginia “Ginger” (nee Meeker) Rude, devoted father of Amy E. Rude of Hardyston Twp., Allen W. Rude, III, and his wife, Sabrina, of Hardyston Twp., and Aaron P. Rude and his wife, Alaina, of Dingmans Ferry, Pa., and his cherished three grandchildren, Evelyn Marie, Sadie Lynn, and Liam Odin, and his siblings, Nancy Sciascia of Ovadia Fla., William Rude, of Hamburg, and Candance Leatham of Hardyston Twp.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday May 14th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, 1 Main Street, Franklin, N.J., Sgt. Francis M. Glynn American Legion Post 132 services Thursday at 7:30 p.m., funeral services at the funeral home on Friday, May 15, at 11 a.m. Memorial donations to Alzheimer’s Association, 400 Morris Avenue, Denville, NJ 07834 would be appreciated.
