James A. Gannon, 57, of Danbury, Conn., was charged with a count of unlawful possession of a firearm after police responded to reports of an erratic driver and alleged road rage incident on Route 23.

Police said the witness/victim reported the driver of another vehicle displayed a firearm after they both had beeninvolved in a confrontation while traveling on Route 23.

Police allege Gannon brandished the firearm in the direction of, but not at, a motor vehicle while pulling into the Franklin Quick Chek. Police allege Gannon brandished the firearm to intimidate the other driver.

Gannon was sent to the Sussex County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail with no 10 percent option.
