    Brooke Van Veen of Oak Ridge was among 130 students recognized by Lebanon Valley College for making an impact on the campus as a new student.

    The celebration of student Success reception, held April 7 in Mund College Center, honored the student's achievement.

    Van Veen is a graduate of Jefferson Township High School and is pursuing a bachelor of music in music recording technology at The Valley.

    Amanda Osbun of Oak Ridge has been recognized at Millersville University's 57th Annual Undergraduate Honors and Awards Convocation on Saturday, April 25. Osbun was awarded the Burl N. Osburn Award.

    The Undergraduate Honors and Awards Convocation is a formal recognition of Millersville University students who have excelled in their academic, athletic and student organization endeavors during their studies.

    Michael Competiello of Oak Ridge, a junior with a major in digital communications, was inducted into the Tau Chi Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi, an International Honor Society in education, on Sunday, March 1.

    He also was named to the dean's list for the spring 2015 semester. Students make the dean's list if they complete at least 12 semester hours and earn a minimum grade point average of 3.50 for the semester.

    Melissa Baldwin of Oak Ridge was initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines. Baldwin was initiated at Kean University.

    Membership is by invitation and requires nomination and approval by a chapter.

    Robert Zajdel of Oak Ridge graduated Cum Laude with a bachelor of arts in information systems.

    Zajdel is a 2011 graduate of Pope John XXIII High School and the son of Jim and Nancy Zajdel. Zajdel was joined in the commencement ceremony by 454 other students, as well as numerous faculty and the commencement speaker.

    Danielle Lowe of Ogdensburg recently discussed a research project on the effect of reading with infants at SUNY New Paltz.

    At the university's Student Research Symposium, more than 80 students joined their faculty mentors in presenting the results of collaborative research projects in an array of academic disciplines.
