    Ian Thompson, 29, of Hamburg, New Jersey was sentenced to two years of probation. He was ordered to continue his current treatment and medications and to have no inappropriate or harassing contact with the victim(s) in this matter.

    He must pay total fines and penalties of $280 and submit a DNA sample at his expense.

    Thompson pleaded guilty on March 2, 2015 to two counts of third degree aggravated assault. In pleading guilty, Thompson admitted to assaulting two staff members at a facility he was housed in on Dec. 8. The matter was investigated by the Hardyston Township Police Department.

    Justin Gordon, 38, of Kearny, was sentenced to two years of probation with credit for 41 days plus fines and fees.

    He pleaded guilty on Feb. 23, 2015, to shoplifting, a third degree crime.

    Gordon admitted that he shoplifted approximately $1,400 worth of merchandise from Walmart located in the Borough of Franklin.

    Elizabeth Headley, 37, of Branchville, pleaded guilty to the third degree crime of distribution of a controlled dangerous substance.

    Sentencing is presently anticipated for June 26, 2015.

    She admitted to selling heroin to an individual cooperating with the Sussex County Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force on Sept. 22 in Frankford Township.

    May 5
    Joshua Sliker, 28, of Newton, pleaded guilty to fourth-degree credit card theft and third degree fraudulent use of a credit card.

    Sentencing is presently anticipated for June 15, 2015.

    In pleading guilty, Sliker admitted to taking a debit card belonging to another person and using it to withdraw funds from ATM machines in Newton on March 7, 2015.

    The matter was investigated by the Newton Police Department.

    Scott W. Brady, 19, of Sparta, was sentenced to two years of probation on condition that he serve 120 days in the Keogh Dwyer Correction Facility and pay court fines and fees.

    He pleaded guilty on Feb. 9, 2015, to third degree distribution of a controlled dangerous substance.

    Following an investigation by the Hopatcong Police Department the defendant and two co-defendants were found to be in possession of a large amount of marijuana and Brady admitted he had been selling large quantities of marijuana for at least a year.

    Darrell Cowan, 42, of Hopatcong, was sentenced to two years of probation, was ordered to pay total fines and penalties of $330 and must submit a DNA sample at his expense.

    He pleaded guilty on April 6, 2015 to third-degree resisting arrest and the disorderly persons offense of theft.

    In pleading guilty, Cowan admitted to taking property from other patrons at a business in Roxbury Township on Dec. 18. Later, when officers attempted to arrest him in Hopatcong, he refused to be arrested and struggled with the officers.

    The matter was investigated by the Hopatcong Borough Police Department.

    Crystal Spear, 22, of Oak Ridge, was sentenced to two years of probation and time served. She was ordered to abstain from using any drugs or alcohol or associating with persons known to use drugs or alcohol, to continue compliance with DCCP and to submit to a substance abuse evaluation.

    She must pay total fines and penalties of $155 and must submit a DNA sample at her expense.

    She pleaded guilty on Feb. 9, 2015 to fourth degree Child Abuse/Neglect of Children. In pleading guilty, Spear admitted to using drugs in the presence of a child at her home in Sparta in December.

    The matter was investigated by the Sparta Township Police Department

    Cody MacMillan, 50, of Wantage, was sentenced to 364 days in the Home Detention Program with three years of probation. He must also pay $63,723 restitution to the victim.

    He pleaded guilty on Dec. 15, to third-degree theft. While serving as an usher at the Lafayette Federated Church the defendant would take checks deposited in the collection basket and deposit them into his personal account.
