Doris 'Eileen' Wilton

    Doris “Eileen” Wilton, 86 years old, died after a brief illness at Bentley Assisted Living in Branchville, N.J., on Sunday, May 24, 2015. Born to Frank and Beatrice Dixon in the Woods Family Home on Linwood Avenue in Hamburg, N.J., she has been a lifelong resident of Hardyston Twp., N.J.

    Eileen, as she prefers to be called, was a graduate of Franklin High School, class of 1947 and upon completing high school, she went to work as a secretary to the Real Estate and Water Departments of the New Jersey Zinc Company. She also worked at Picatinny Arsenal as a clerk until 1954. When her sons were in Hardyston Elementary School she worked as a teacher’s aide at the school. Then when her son, Paul went to college in 1973 she worked for Pargas in Hamburg, N.J., as an assistant bookkeeper. She then returned to Picatinny Arsenal as a clerk and trained in Upward Mobility for an Engineering Technician and retired in April of 1992 as a GS11 Engineer Technician. Eileen also enjoyed playing the piano and organ and gave piano lessons in her home for many years. She also served as the former organist for the Hamburg Baptist Church.

    Eileen was predeceased by her first husband, Louis Haas (1981), her second husband, William Wilton (2009) and a sister, Barbara L. Ross (1999) and was the devoted mother of Paul L. Haas and his wife, Karen of Palmyra, Pa., and Frank M. Haas of Hamburg, N.J. Loving grandmother of Matthew and Emily Haas. Cherished by many nieces and nephews.

    The family will receive their friends at F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, 1 Main St., Franklin, N.J., on Wednesday, May 27, 2015, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be Thursday, May 28, 2015, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
