Andrew M. McKenzie

Dr. Andrew M. McKenzie, 78, died Friday May 22, 2015, at his home in Hardyston Twp. Dr. McKenzie, son of the late George and Elizabeth (O’Farrell) McKenzie was born in Paterson March 5, 1937. He has resided in Hardyston Twp.for the past 45 years.

Dr. McKenzie received his Ph.D. from Ohio University. In 2001 he retired from Sussex County Community College after 18 years, having served as dean of Student Services. He was an active Parishioner at Immaculate Conception RC Church, Franklin, where he served on the Parish Council for many years. Dr. McKenzie was a U.S. Army Veteran serving from September 1961 to August 1962.

Dr. McKenzie is survived by his wife of 53 years, Eleanor (Grogan) McKenzie; children, Tara Gilvar and her husband, Ted, of Bernardsville and their children, Lauren, Jackson and Kendall, Drew McKenzie and his wife, Sharon, of Chatham Twp. and their children, Krista, Caitlin and Camryn, Brian McKenzie and his wife, Jeanne, of Medfield, Ma., and their children Kelsey, Kaela, Brendon and Luke,and Nikita McKenzie at home; brother, Thomas McKenzie of Bloomingdale and sister, Mary Haywood of Wayne.

Funeral services were Monday May 25, 2015, at 10 a.m. from F. John Ramsey Funeral Home One Main St. Franklin to Immaculate Conception RC Church, Franklin, for a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Cremation will be private.
