Weis markets to sell tickets, sponsor people’s choice award
AUGUSTA — The Rock, Ribs & Ridges festival announced the return of Weis Markets as its Official Supermarket. Tickets, as well as ingredients used by the festival’s competitive rib teams, can now be purchased in any of Weis’ five New Jersey stores.
Presented by Franklin Sussex Auto Mall, the 6th annual Rock, Ribs & Ridges festival is an annual celebration of great music from artists and barbecue served up by award-winning regional chefs. The two-day festival takes place at the Sussex County Fairgrounds in Augusta on June 27 to 28.
The legendary Charlie Daniels, Marshall Tucker, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Artimus Pyle of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Blue Oyster Cult and Lou Gramm the Voice of Foreigner head the list of 10 performers scheduled over the weekend.
Five competitive barbecue teams will serve up food throughout the weekend and compete for thousands of dollars in prize money in a juried rib cook-off, include 2014 champions Texas Smoke BBQ of Jefferson Township, which swept all categories last year — “Best Ribs,” “Best Sauce,” and Weis Markets’ “People’s Choice.”
Weis Markets is the festival’s official retail ticket outlet and general admission tickets are now on sale at its stores in Newton, Hackettstown, Franklin, Flanders and Hillsborough. Tickets are also available at Franklin Sussex Auto Mall in Sussex and VIP, multi-day weekend pass, group seating, camping and RV packages along with general admission tickets are available online at www.rockribsandridges.com.
The supermarket chain will sponsor the “Weis Markets People’s Choice Award” in which festival-goers can choose their personal favorite barbecue team and be eligible to win a Weis Markets Gift Card.
A panel of judges will determine the winners for “Best Ribs” and “Best Sauce.”

Shoppers can also submit their Favorite Family Backyard BBQ recipes starting May 18 for a chance to win Grand Prizes consisting of passes to the VIP seating area and the VIP party tent as well as the opportunity to go backstage to meet the festival headliner of their choice.
