    May 15Ion Hutchins, 43, of East Orange was sentenced to five years in state prison, 30 months of parole ineligibility, 163 days jail credit for time served and $1,205 in court fines.

    He pleaded guilty on March 16, 2015 to the third degree crime of distribution of a controlled dangerous substance.

    He admitted to selling 50 bags of heroin at the Holiday Motel in Andover Township on Dec. 3 to an individual cooperating with the Sussex County Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force.

    Vincent Canfield, 23, of Landing, was sentenced to three years of probation with credit for 86 days time served in Keogh Dwyer Correctional Facility.

    He pleaded guilty on April 20, 2015, to third degree burglary and third degree theft. In February the defendant and a juvenile co-defendant broke into the victim’s Newton residence taking jewelry and other personal items, while the victim was not home.

    Thomas Suplicki, 24, of Franklin, was sentenced to two years of probation with sixty days in home detention and maintain employment.

    He must also pay $1,125 in court fine and fees.

    He pleaded guilty on March 9, 2015, to third-degree possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

    An August, 2013 investigation by Franklin Borough Police found that the defendant and co-defendants were receiving packages of marijuana. The marijuana would then be broken down into smaller packages and sold.

    Thomas Morrison, 49, of Netcong, was sentenced to 18 months of probation with credit of 82 days served in the county jail.

    He must also pay all mandatory fines and fees and restitution to the victim.

    He pleaded guilty on April 6, 2015, to fourth degree unlawful taking of a means of conveyance and the motor vehicle offense of driving while suspended.

    In February of 2015, the defendant took a vehicle from a business in Hopatcong without the owner’s consent or permission. His driving privileges were suspended at the time of the incident.
